While I enjoyed Darwin's Children a bit more than Darwin's Radio, I was still waffling between giving it three and four stars, as it does suffer some of the same problems as it's predecessor.
Darwin's Children is presented as three novelettes, taking pl 15 and 17 years after the first wave of Shevite births/5(87). In the end, Darwin's Radio almost reads like two books. The first delving deep in to modern biology and virology, the second an emotional (sometimes overly so) race-against-the-clock style thriller.
The premise is good enough to make me want to read the follow up, Darwin's Children, with the hope that it will be a stronger execution of a good idea/5(). Though I didn't find the book itself compelling, the topic was and reading this did inspire me to want to read on to discover what happens to Darwin's Children.
